Rich Townsend founded R. L. Townsend & Associates in 1984 to perform construction audits for organizations throughout the United States. Since 1985, he has also been active as a seminar leader for professional development training programs for contract auditing and construction cost control. He continues to serve as the engagement manager for construction audit consulting services for real estate developers, higher education, health care, retail, government, and oil & gas organizations.
