Edward A. Matisoff joined R. L. Townsend & Associates, Inc. in 2009 as a Senior Associate.
Ed has more than twenty years of accounting, audit and finance experience in a variety of industries including real estate, construction, telecom, hospitality, education & training and Not-for-Profit.Prior to joining R. L. Townsend & Associates, Ed served as Controller, Construction Auditor and Operations Executive to local area companies.He has also held various management consulting, accounting and auditing positions with Verizon Communications (formerly GTE).Ed has extensive experience in strategic planning, real estate operations, lease and construction audits, accounting, finance, budgeting, financial planning, internal controls, fraud detection and as finance and accounting instructor.
His extensive construction audit experience included the creation of GTE’s Construction Audit and Advisory Services Group.This group was responsible for auditing and managing the company’s construction program including Verizon’s Hidden Ridge office complex in Los Colinas, Texas. His audit experience includes auditing executive education and training facilities, retail, condos, headquarters facilities, call centers, hospitals, churches and aircraft hangers, providing substantial savings over a 20 year period.
Ed is a Certified Management Accountant.He received his Bachelors of Science from Bentley University.He has extension training at GTE’s prestigious Management Development Center in Controllership, Leadership, Management and Organizational Behavior.Ed also created and co-authored “Statement for Occupancy Costs 4-0,” published by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).He is a past president of IMA and CoreNet Global chapters.He is a member of the IMA and Associate Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
