Lawrence C. Litoborski
Larry Litoborski joined R. L. Townsend & Associates, Inc. as a Consultant in 2001. He has over 25 years of business experience that has included cost center management, contract negotiation, vendor relations, process improvement, and internal audit.
Mr. Litoborski held senior management positions at Alliance Data Systems where he managed a $7 million cost center. Some significant accomplishments included negotiating processing contracts resulting in annual savings of over $700,000, identifying contract overcharges and incentives totaling $350,000, managing the integration of new subsidiaries saving $230,000 annually, and automating manual operational functions with projected annual salary savings of $175,000. Under Larry’s direction, processing costs were reduced by almost 50% over three years.
Prior to Alliance Data, Larry had a 21 year career with the JCPenney Company. At Penney he held positions in Internal Audit, Retail Credit and Consumer Banking where he was consistently able to reduce costs and improve controls. He managed a 2 year effort to bring a major processing system in-house, during which he negotiated price reductions on software and services of over $300,000. The system was installed on time and within budget and was projected to save $2 million annually. Other projects included the consolidation of call center operations and other improvements, reducing operations costs by over 20%.
Mr. Litoborski started his career in the JCPenney Internal Audit Department where he was auditor-in-charge of numerous reviews of store and credit office operations and well as a number of Corporate departments. These audits yielded a significant number of cost savings, improvements in internal control and detection of several cases of internal fraud.
Larry holds a BA (1974) and MBA (1975) in Finance from the University of Illinois. He became a Certified Internal Auditor in 1981.
